Launching a series of collections that look towards the kitchen and bathroom, I got to experience the wash collection for myself, trying out the three new soaps and hand balms.

Showcasing his latest products at this year's Maison & Objet, Tom Dixon has turned towards the bathroom with a series of collections designed with water in mind. As Dixon expands into the bathroom and kitchen spaces, we are seeing specialist products designed to handle the elements in ways his previous ranges are unable to do so. Whilst visiting Maison & Objet, I was lucky enough to try out the Wash range for myself to get the full experience of these brand new soaps and hand balms.

The full series consists of washing up liquid, Hand Washes, Hand Balms and Hand Gift Sets, divided into three signature scents: London, Royalty and Orientalist. The London products, in particular, have been the talk of the town as the soap is surprisingly black. There is a reason for this however as it contains clay and charcoal to give the soap detoxifying qualities. There is a subtle mix of black pepper, oud wood and patchouli to capture the smell of smokey red brick and London parks. It's paired hand balm is enriched with rosehip oil, carrot oil and honey to create the perfect soothing and cleansing relationship.

Royalty contains the essence of black tea and bergamot, rich in antioxidants to help soothe and restores damaged skin. Notes of lemon, earl grey tea and cedar wood have been used to capture the smell of tea time with scones and strawberry jam.

Orientalist incorporates rosehip oil, turmeric, ginger and fennel, designed to purify and soothe the skin. Notes of violet leaves, rose, cinnamon and musk create a beautiful and slightly floral fragrance that gently rests on the skin.

After trying them out for myself, I was surprised to discover just how different they are from one another. With such diverse fragrances, there is essentially one for all, lovers of floral, rich and fresh scents.

As always, Tom Dixon never fails to impress with the level of detail and coverage he gives to a design. From the intricate detailing of a bookmark to not forgetting the washing up liquid, this brand really does have it all!
