Heal's AW15 Furniture Collections
Posted on August 26 2015
Heal's launch its AW15 furniture collections with three main variations in style; the Pinner, Fawn and Dodie ranges.
For this Autumn and Winter season, Heal’s has reached into it’s rich and vibrant history to deliver designs in a way that only it knows how. I take a look at three remarkable collections, all incredibly different from one another, that will be adding luxury and quality to our homes as we make our way into this incredibly exciting season.
The Fawn Collection
This beautiful Scandinavian styled collection has been designed by Salih Teskeredžić and Mustafa Čohadžić. The range was inspired by the characteristics of a fawn, being strong with a swiftness in its appearance. The designs have an impeccable finish, creating an overall smoothness that allows the item to be viewed as a solid piece, undisturbed by hard lines and connecting joins.
In contrast to the soft and natural wood is the use of fabric within many of the designs. The dining chairs and bed incorporate black woven fabric strips to add support and comfort whilst the coffee and side tables include tightly woven cream rope underneath the glass tops.
The Dodie Collection
A collection with romance at its heart. The Dodie furniture range has been inspired by original bespoke designs from Ambrose Heal for writer Dodie Smith, a former Heal’s employee and well-known author of The Hundred and One Dalmatians. There is beautiful simplicity to the designs that have been influenced by the art deco movement as you can see from the detailing at the bottom of the units.
There is an adaptability to much of this collection that makes it perfect for a busy or changing household. The table is available with chair or bench option, the latter becoming an increasingly popular choice. The shelving units are stackable, allowing to customise and adapt a space as your needs change, all incredibly simple in design, complimenting accessories and colours of choice.
The Pinner Collection
This collection celebrates the rich heritage of Heal’s. Inspired by Ambrose Heal’s clean aesthetic and the desire to create furniture fit for a family, there is a beautiful rustic feel with a contemporary twist to bring it into the modern day. What I love about these designs are the finer details that have been included such as the Heal’s branded cupboard handles and the wooden spun detailing around the legs in reference to the rich history of the brand and traditional design.
The Pinner collection is available in two elegant finish colours, Atlantic blue (as imaged above) and cotton white. The blue is a personal favourite of mine as It adds a contemporary charm to a traditional piece which adds a beautiful finish to an interior space. The white adds a soft rustic feel which is perfect for people looking to add additional colours to a room through accessories and bedding.
