Bulgari Hotel: Sign Machine
Posted on September 22 2016
The Bulgari Hotel exhibits the Sign Machine installation by Morag Myerscough and Luke Morgan during the 2016 London Design Festival.
During this year's London Design Festival, the Bulgari Hotel has continued in becoming a platform for striking and interactive art, a must visit destination that provides a unique and fascinating user experience. Morag Myerscough and Luke Morgan have produced a playful and vibrant installation called the Sign Machine, creating a beautiful contrast between the fluorescent, high visibility colours against the calm and elegance of the hotel lobby.
The Sign machine is a kinetic installation in response to the crowdsourced product wall, soon be unveiled in the DESIGNER MAKER USER permanent exhibition at the Design Museum in Kensington. Users are able to sit in the machine and turn a series of rods surrounding them to control the signs and familiar items displayed above. This interactivity allows the user to create their own work of art and unique statement with the installation itself.
General Manager Sylvain Ercoli comments,
"We're very excited to continue our relationship with the design world and present such a striking installation by Morag Myerscough and Luke Morgan during the London Design Festival. This is a very important collaboration for us as it acts as a preview for what will be our new neighbour, the Design Museum's permanent exhibition. This project is designed to encourage passersby, as well as our guests, to take party and engage with Bulgari Hote, London in a very different and fun way"
The Sign Machine was on display at the Bulgari hotel between 12th - 25th September with the DESIGN MAKER USER permanent exhibition opening at the Design Museum on 24th November 2016.
